The Mesa Lakes grouping, which includes Lost Lake, consists of 8 fishable waters located on the north end of the Grand Mesa. Easy access is only one of the reasons for the area's popularity, although getting to this lake requires a bit of hiking. Other appealing points of this group of lakes include developed campgrounds, picnic sites, a lodge offering a restaurant, fishing tackle, and cabins.Log in for additional details...
Getting there:
From the town of Mesa, go south on Hwy 65 13.7 miles to access road on right just past Jumbo Reservoir. Follow access road 0.3 miles, to the parking lot at the end of the road, at Mesa Lake. Walk across the Mesa Lake dam, and turn right onto a well marked trail (FS 503) which will lead to South Mesa Lake after a relatively easy 0.5 mile hike. At the fork in the trail, go left and continue past South Mesa Lake, along the east shore of the lake, for an additional 0.5 miles to Lost Lake.
