Turner Creek Reservoir is located to the west of the Black Hills. This area was/is rich with oil and coal deposits and the nearest town of Osage once had a population of 1500 people, primarily working in these or related industries. However, as of 2010, there were only approximately 200 people remaining in Osage. The reservoir is a man-made water storage unit on Turner Creek.
Getting there: Follow Weston County Road 14
(Skull Creek Road) northeast from Osage for 5.5 miles to
USDA Forest Service Road 914. Turn left (west) for 1.5 miles
to the reservoir. Note this is a dry weather road only.
