Win 20K Next Month!

by: Eric Allee , Colorado 9/12/2017

Iíve been fortunate to work with the Patriot Anglers for the last couple years. Iíve watched them grow each year which equates to them helping more veterans and families through fishing and community. Iíve been to clean ups, BBQís, fishing events, and last year I attended the first Fishing With Honor Tournament.

Last yearís Fishing With Honor tournament was a huge success with anglers both young and old competing and winning great prizes. One fish that stands out was a behemoth of a smallie caught by a young man fishing from shore. The smallie was over 20 inches long and build like CJ Anderson of the Denver Broncos! Long story short last yearís Fishing With Honor was the start of something special.

The Patriot Anglers have partnered with 2020 EyeVenue this year and will be offering a 20,000 dollar grand prize at this years Fishing With Honor tournament! The 20,000 dollar prize will be won if an angler catches a tagged trout that will be stocked before the tournament. Knowing 2020 EyeVenue owner Matt Nevermann like I do Iím sure heíll be stocking the biggest trout theyíll let him too!

To make sure everyone has a shot at some awesome prizes this tournament is a hybrid. Thereís the monster cash payout for the tagged fish, but itís also a total inches style tournament that will run off the HookWars app. After you register for the tournament during the check in process youíll be given a measuring device. When you catch a fish take a picture of the fish next to the measuring device through the app and itíll automatically enter your fish into the tournament! Iíve used to HookWars app and itís extremely easy. If you have any questions about the app or tournament you can reach out to the Patriot Angers via their website or on their Facebook page.

Iím going to do my best to write the rest of this blog without turning it into a novel. Since opening their doors 2020 EyeVenue owners Matt and Marcella Nevermann have done tons of the surrounding communities, and of course the fishing community. The last year of the Larimer County Fishing Expo they donated 75 pairs of kids polarized fishing glasses for us to give away! Last year when I had my Kids Podcast they donated even more of varying sizes to give away to anglers anywhere from toddler age to high school kids! It didnít surprise me to find out Matt and Marcella got behind the Fishing With Honor tournament and put up the big bucks to make this yearís Fishing With Honor tournament even better. To buy discounted tickets visit 2020 EyeVenue's website @2020EyeVenue.com

This yearís Fishing With Honor Tournament will be on Oct 7th at Cherry Creek Reservoir!

The entry fees for this tournament go directly to the Patriot Anglers which then will be used to help vets and their families. The Patriot Anglers have an extremely high efficiency rating and their books are open if you have any questions. I point that out so you guys know your entry fees are going to a great cause by a non-profit organization that does everything based on their mission statement. So quick recap your entry fee goes to a great cause that helps the very folks that have helped secure our way of life and freedom, you have a shot at 20,000 dollars, tons of prizes for the HookWars tournament, Hourly give aways and more! Itís a win/win all the way around.

If you run into Matt Nevermann at the tournament ask him why he only catches little lake trout!

Is there a way for someone to fish this tournament that doesn't have a smart phone or Facebook?

Goose: on the tagged fish side I'm sure you don't need a cellphone at all. I just sent a few guys the same question when they respond I'll post it here.

@elk go to 2020EyeVenue.com for a discounted entry fee. I just bought mine for 40 bucks. You can find more info at Patriotanglers.us too, but make sure to buy your tickets via 2020 to save some bucks.

I don't know about this. There are no fish in that lake. One fish in a lake that size is going to be impossible to catch. (not that I ever catch anything there!) Great cause though, might be worth the donation.

Reading the rules does that mean only one person per boat

Hey Guys... I'm waiting for confirmation from the organizers but I think they're simplifying everything and doing away with the app for this tournament. It'll be the tagged fish for the big money and then they'll raffle away all the prizes at the end of the tournament. You can still win 20k and have a legit shot at all the prizes just by buying a ticket.

Thanks for the update Eric

I do not understand, If I enter and use my boat, am I paired with a vet or a partner of my choosing, is this a one person per boat event ?

Update: They've decided to wait a little longer to do a tournament with the app. This tournament will be all about the 20k tagged fish with tons of prizes they'll be giving away via raffle and for fish caught etc... FOM: Nope just register head out and catch that 20k fish! The proceeds from this tournament will be helping the Patriot Anglers help veterans and their families. You can find more info at www.patriotanglers.us
