Sam Rayburn Lake, Lufkin Texas - Sam Rayburn Reservoir, located on the Angelina River, was constructed for the purpose of flood control, hydroelectric power generation, and water supply. Home to hundreds of fishing tournaments, Sam Rayburn is touted as a premier bass fishery. Other good fisheries include catfish, crappie, and sunfish.
