i am gonna get to fish later this week. we are trying to decide where to go now. the cows and the pecan trees are taken care of and it is time to put some fish in the freezer. i am trying to decide between lavon, cooper, and cedar creek. i am taking the grandson, so it will not be to serious, but he is after a few new lake records.

what age do most of you start your kids fishing. i guess the most important thing is patience. i have started my 3 year old grandson. we fish a little and ride in the boat a lot. he is catching fish and having a good time. i have rod holders all around the boat, so he can play and fish at the same time. he can reel in anything now and when he is ready to ride we just pull in and go. here is a picture of him reeling in a bluecat on lake lavon. the one thing i would tell everyone is, on the trips you take kids, don't be to serious. make sure they have fun and they will want to go in the boat all the time. they will get older and fish a lot more.
