I have heard Granger lake is a great place for catfish. I have also heard, it isn't a great place if you don't have a boat. Does anyone know of any good areas to bank fish? I ran into an old buddy of mine and want to go out somewhere around the Austin area that we have a chance of catching a couple of catfish fish.

TPWD recommends that catfish can consistently be caught on hook and line by fishing snags and laydowns in the river portion of the reservoir. You can get bank access to the San Gabriel River above Granger Lake off County Road 348. I hope this helps.
