Fish are moving!!
by: Collins Illich 2/22/2011
Spring is 29 days away and the bass are very active.  I fished Sam Rayburn the other day and any area with grass had bass.  They were very easy to catch hitting fast baits.  Specifically lipless cranks in 1/4 or 1/2 ounce size in silver, red, or black.  Check your drags, oil your reels and get ready the fish are waking up.

Welcome Collins! Do you fish lipless cranks on glass rods, composite, or graphite rods? Reel gear ratio? Line material and test? I'm setting up a lipless crank-specific combo and am asking everyone that fishes them a lot! Thanks for your input! CL

Thanks for the info Collins. I'm headin to Rayburn in three short weeks. Cannot wait to get on the lake and knowing the bass are active is gonna make that three weeks seem like an eternity. JB

Great to hear, after such a cold spell these past weeks have been great for ya'll. That is my favorite time to throw a swimbait as well. and if i have to fish one fast i will throw that 3:16 mission fish.
