Boing, Boing Boom & Walkin' the Dog....
I had a chance to get out for a few days this week for some fishing , I'm in the process of reviewing a topwater lure called the Boing. It’s a Spook type top water bait that has a unique sound chamber that sends out a Boing sound hence the name of the lure .
Walkin’ the dog is a technique that takes a little skill here’s a few tips : make sure that there's some "line-slack" immediately before each jerk, and immediately after each jerk. The goal is to zigzag the bait about 6 inches to alternating sides without pause. Let the fish tell how they want it, sometime it’s a quick cadence and other times it’s a slow wide action. The secret of dog-walking is mainly due to the fact that the lure never stops moving, making it difficult for bass to get a good look. Plus the lure spends its time moving back-and-forth with little forward progress, in other words, dog-walking offers a sneaky action that’s hard to identify.
The Boing cast a mile , has a great finish plus super sharp hooks. I found it easy to walk the dog and the sound is clearly heard on each snap of the line. I think in certain situation’s the Boing could give the fish something different to hear, a “Spook on Steroids” if you will J .. After several trips under cloudy conditions and somewhat off colored water the bait produced some nice fish, So far I know it catches fish : ) Check out their Face Book page for details,
