Lake Skipper: Finally Fishing I am finally fishing after many years without having a rod in my hand. I was born and raised in Colorado, with my early years on the eastern plains where there was very little for fishing close by, and my energy was focused on my horse.
Biography: I am finally fishing after many years without having a rod in my hand. I was born and raised in Colorado, with my early years on the eastern plains where there was very little for fishing close by, and my energy was focused on my horse. Now after years of soccer games for my son on weekends, I spend more time fishing than ever before.
I have a lot to learn, and I am fortunate that I am learning with my husband XJeep who also has not fished since he was a kid. I have enjoyed trolling for salmon at Green Mountain Res. and Blue Mesa Res.. I had the good fortune to land a 39.5" Pike on Mother's Day 2008 trolling with Nate from TLO on Spinney. My goal was to learn everything I could so I could apply it myself. What a Mother's Day. In February 2008 my husband and I started to rebuild the floor in our 16' Smokercraft boat. We finished in the first week of August 2008. It was a busy year, and we had no Idea that it would take us that long. This year alone I added 10 new species to my adventures, some form the boat, some from shore. I am proud of every one, but most proud of the Master Angler Walleye I caught from shore at 11:30pm on the July 4th weekend. Fishing in the dark is an adventure of it's own.
Over the next year I plan on becomming one with jigging. I am not very good at it, so I tend to avoid jigging and go with stick baits.
The photo above is a Brown Trout from August in Creede where we joined the family for a week of fun and games, and fishing. The Brown Trout was caught on an X-Rap.
