The Sport fish and Wildlife restoration programs help to fund state wildlife agencies throughout the country. The program is funded by fishing, hunting and boating manufacturers that pay an excise tax on this equipment. This tax provides critical funding to state wildlife agencies for projects to restore and enhance wild birds, mammals, sport fish and their habitats. The funding also provides public use and access to these wildlife resources. The result: better fishing, boating, hunting and other wildlife-oriented recreation. This helps fund various programs in the Division of Wildlife. Some of these include the non-game, Fishing is Fun, and Motorboat CO programs. For more information, watch The Cycle of Success video.
