Lake Loveland has limited public fishing access along the north shore at North Lake Park, along Taft Ave. north of 22nd St. along walkway, and on the south shore along the dam. Parking is limited except for within the park. There are no public boat ramps, so although boating is allowed, access is limited to private access. Decent fishing exists for walleye, smallmouth bass, perch, and stocked rainbow trout. Largemouth bass are present but not in high numbers. The lake was used a while ago to harvest perch for placement in other lakes, but the perch numbers have declined a bit. Lake Loveland is primarily stocked by the CDOW for ice fishermen, as this is the primary focus of general-public anglers that fish it.
North Lake Park provides several opportunities for the rest of your family as you fish, including a swim beach, playgrounds, amphitheater, shelters, grills, restrooms, horseshoe pits, baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, racquetball courts, a train, and the Benson Sculpture Park across the street.
Getting there: Access to North Lake Park is off of Taft Avenue in Loveland, just south of 29th Street. Two other parking areas are located on the South and Southeast side of the lake off of 34. Fees: There are no fees to fish Lake Loveland from the shore. Boating: All Boats Allowed. There are no public boat ramps at Loveland Lake. Ice Fishing: Ice fishing is allowed
