Lagerman Reservoir, Longmont Colorado - Lagerman Reservoir is located just South West of the City of Longmont and is managed by Boulder County Parks and Open Space. Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, a multi-use trail and a picinic shelter.
Located 2.5 miles southwest of Longmont, this 116-acre reservoir is part of Boulder County open space. While fishing is a major attraction, Lagerman Reservoir also has a multiuse 1.6-mile loop trail around the reservoir that is open to hikers and their dogs, mountain bikers, and equestrians. A group shelter, which can accommodate up to 50 people, is available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis. Boating is another recreational opportunity but is resticted to powered craft with less than 7.5 horsepower or non-motorized craft.
Fishing is permitted both from boats and the shore. Although fishers should note that there is a season closure for nesting birds on the western end April through the end of August. Anglers can expect to encounter a variety of warmwater species, such as largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, tiger muskie, black crappie, bluegill, and channel catfish. Most species are stocked on a regular basis by Colorado Division of Wildlife.
Getting there: Take I-25 to the Highway 66 exit (243). Head West on Hwy 66 10.5 miles to Hygeine Rd. Go South 4.5 miles to Pike Rd. Go South on Pike road .5 miles to the entrance on the South side of Pike Rd. Fees: None Boating: HP Restricted. Non-motorized vessels, such as canoes and kayaks, and motorized vessels with electric motors or gasoline motors of 7.5 horsepower or less are allowed. Vessels are restricted to wake-less speeds only (less than 5 miles an hour). Sailboats and sailboards are not allowed. Ice Fishing: No ice fishing
The Ramp at Lagerman is concrete. Be careful when the lake is low, the concrete only extends so far into the lake. There is a floating dock located on the West side of the ramp.
