Dowdy Lake offers pristine beauty and excellent trout fishing. The lake is stocked frequently and contains a naturally reproducing population of brook trout. The lake offers excellent camping and wakeless boating.
Getting there: Drive 21 miles north of Fort Collins on Highway 287. Turn left onto the Red Feather Lakes Road (County Road 74E) and travel approximately 21 miles, about 0.7 miles past the Parvin parking area and turn right onto Dowdy Drive. Take this road about 0.8 miles (be sure to go right at bend about 0.6 miles in on this road) and turn left at fork to go to the boat ramp entrance about 100 yards on right. Fees: Day use area is now a fee area, $4 per day Boating: Wakeless. Ice Fishing: Ice fishing is allowed
