Boedecker Reservoir, Loveland Colorado - As the reservoir is lined with private residences, the best way to fish this lake is via boat. Due to irrigation demands and a short ramp, launching boats becomes difficult in late summer.
Also referred to as Mariano Reservoir, Boedecker is located just west of Loveland and is a rebounding fishery after low water years caused by drought. The west and south sides are lined with residential houses. It is a wakeless lake with a decent concrete boat ramp which typically does not have a dock. The parking area and launch is located on the northeast side of the lake. Known for decent walleye and bass fishing, Boedecker also is a carp fly-fisherman's haven with numerous large carp. Even though the fishing forecast was glum in the early period after draw-down, this lake has been offering fine fishing since. When the lake is full it contains several submerged grass and brush piles. As with many front range lakes, Boedecker gets drawn down heavily in the irrigation months and becomes very low towards the end of the season, typically late July into August.
