dont bother making the mile and half hike into the back....well read for yourself on the cheesman res. forum....real good info.... go up to 2 weeks back that should get you started!
Hurts to help a snagger, but....either you take em out or they die

Just got home... skunked except for this bizarre sick fish. Tail was eaten off, but the cut looked like a fillet knife did it. Fish was visible on top swimming, didn't realize till he was landed how bad of shape he was in..
Everyone I talked to who took the hike did real well, I was with someone who didnt want to walk, so we stayed in the first bay. There was one lady who kept bangin em out left and right, but people a foot on either side were skunked too. I saw VERY few fish jumping. The ranger and others reported that they were active and jumping at the inlet. Water level was UP about 4 feet from 2 weeks ago, so the spots where I did well two weeks ago were much deeper and harder to reach from shore. All told, saw about 16-18 people, 3 with full limits, most with some and 5 or 6 with nothing. Great weather, nice folks, and fun fishing despite havin to eat casserole instead of fresh salmon for dinner...

Heck, it was real warm up there today, weather tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer. I was short sleeved half the day and just a hoodie the rest. The hike is long. About 45 minutes, with a lot of 20 ft up and downs as you work your way around the reservoir. When the channel is only about 20 feet across look for jumping fish, or others snaggin. You can't really miss it when you get there.. (plus I know 3 guys who will be there from about 9am on..) Folks are really nice. Ask what and where. They'll set you right.
