Westminster city park

Anyone fish Westminster city park pond? I live a few blocks away and try it when I'm bored. I know it's supposed to be stocked with trout occasionally, but I can never seem to catch a fish there. I have noticed a good population of 2-3" lm bass lately and I see quite a few rises but a lot of them are the little bass. But I haven't ever seen anyone have luck there and I know I haven't. I fly and lure fish, just wondering if anyone knew much about it? Seems like it's not really worth my time, but it's convenient and has a great shoreline for flyfishing.

I fished there quite a bit this year. It was good until the lake rolled over and then I got next to nothing. I have caught 1-1.5lb bass out of there and I've heard "stories" of 3-4lb bass as well. I 've seen people catch stockers out of it as well. I fly fish it with a popper lure with some decent success.

Like any pond, it probably has a decent population of bass and panfish...

until it gets talked about on here. Try it, but don't expect any monsters. These ponds make great close-to-home trips, so I would play this one close to the chest. I'm all for sharing info, but on small ponds, it is sometimes best to just let the location slide.

Look at Spratte Platte for an example of pressure that got out of hand and ruined the fishery.
