Going to Las Vegas for the CSU vs. UNLV game on Saturday, So I decided to make a stop at lake mead for a little fishing. I rented a fishing boat and will be based out of the Calvile Bay. Never fished here, so I'm looking for a little advise.
Does any one have any tips, Locals or suggestions for any of the fishing. We will be looking to get into some strippers and largemouth.

Nice Rammies shirt in the background of that beauty of a striper! I caught a 13lb'er out of McConaughy years ago, but have never been to Mead. Looked pretty nice when we flew over it a few weeks ago to Vegas, lots of area to explore. Good luck with the bassin over there, let us know how it goes. By the way, get the Rams a "W", they desperately need it!

If possible, try to book a guided trip with Capt. Mike Swartz .

You'll learn a lot to find the fish on your own, his trip is well worth the money

fish off the islands (boulder, rock, and deadmans) out of hemenway harbor, ive had lots of success there, if you can fish at night put a light over the side of the boat and wait for the shad to school under the boat, then catch some of the shad, put on a large hook and weight and drop to the bottom under the school of shad, reel up about 3-5 cranks and wait, the stripers will be not far from the shad under them , in about 40 to 60 ft of water, caught hundreds of them like that on a good night, hope you have an awesome time, JACK
