if your going to baitfish just get it to float up 3-5 ft off bottom..

Your going to want to be right next to or on top of them weeds!
Nightstalker is correct if your goinng to fish the dam fish a floating worm. inject it with air and float from the bottom up.left or right of the tower it wont matter, if you have a second rod, throw lures of what ever your comfotable with in about 1 to 2 inch silver or perch patterns, try to get to the tops of weeds with your lures...
SMB are eating perch frey in the weed beds.Crussing in wolf packs of 3to5.
If your after Perch set up a slip bobber at 12 ft cast out tell your bobber stands upright and then reel in once it goes side ways you have found the botton or the edge of the weed line, mark that spot in your head and recast out a little farther..Then start to jiggle the bobber with a very small peace of worm on small hook.Watch bober disapear, count to 3 and set the hook. Dont go longer then 3 or you will gut hook the Perch.
