We live on Ft. Carson so Brush Hollow is our place to go when we don't feel like driving too far. We're new to Colorado so we don't know many places so this has been a nice place for us.
Headed out there tonight around five left about 11 PM. Fished right near one of the docks for the first time (we usually head off closer to the dam). For a girl that rarely catches anything but twigs and seaweed Brush Hollow is a great confidence booster! I catch a handful of bluegill and striper which I throw back of course, but still it makes it feel that my notorious failed attempts at catching fish are not just me! Brought my ten year old and four year old with me and teh ten year old pulled in over a dozen fish ( no keepers) but still great fun.
Wish we knew the secret to catching some catfish out there. We've tried everything!!

Me and my 8 yr old were there on Friday from 12-3pm. We caught some bluegills and perch from the boat dock. They weren't keepers ut the lil guy enjoyed catching them. Not sure about the catfih but some of the boaters said that the catfish action really heats up once the water is irrigated and the levels drop.
We were told we had striper on teh line. A guy fishing nearby wandered over to see what we caught. He said it was a small striper so I took his word for it :D

Recon is right, I have the stocking data, gillnet/electro shocking data on brush going back years. And the DOW has never put them in there, or they have never showed up in any of the surveys either. So it would be bucket biology.

I am guessing that what you actually had there, were black crappies. No Wipers or Stripers in brushhollow. i am not a cat fisher, but could not keep them of my walleye rig, 1/4oz jig 3" gulp minnow, 6fow-12fow.
i agree with fish44 never heard of striper in there, i know j.martin has em... its fun to hear others catching fish , whatever they are , nice........!
