Cocoa Beach Surf fishing
Post By: basshog      Posted: 3/30/2012 4:18:36 PM     Points: 343
Has anyone been to cocoa Beach for surf fishing lately or live in the area to give a status report and maybe offer some tips. I am going to surf fish there in May (bear in mind still researching ( rules, times, so on). Are the beaches open 24 hours to fishing? I know there is rules behind piers didn't know if this apply to the beach. Also my email is basshoggy@gmail.com if you have any suggestions you want to help me with. Thanks in advance.

thanks

Matt

I live further up the coast and have not fished in Cocoa but will try and get some information on bait shops and things like that to try and help get some information for you.

Hi, I called a tackle shop in Cocoa and they can provide you with information on fishing on the beach. It is open 24 hours unless marked differently. They are currently catching Red and Black drum on the beach. Their website is [log in for link] and you can get their phone number there. While in the area the Banana River system is sometimes good for fishing Redfish, you can probably find some local charters if interested. Hope this helps and good luck. Let us know how you do and put up some pictures.

Thanks for the info sorry I have not responded lately. I will done there from May 18th to 22nd then am moving more inland in Orlando to visit family. Thanks for the shop report. I am going to plan on hanging around titusville also as that is where I am used to fishing. But am going to try my hand on shore fishing. already did a ton of research and got the rod that best fits my build so on. BUt am going to still need to get some items when I come in.
