Tim Emery Tim now lives in Denver after ten years of being a fly fishing guide and shop manager in Vail. Tim has become an urban fisherman focusing on fishing within an hour of Denver. He uses his fly rod to fish for anything he has time for and he fishes often.
Tim "Fishman" Emery has been dreaming of the day he could talk about fly fishing all the time. Tim spent 12 years in the Vail Valley as a ski instructor, fly fishing guide and fly shop manager. During the years spent in Vail, Tim honed his skills on the Eagle River and Gore Creek. Tim also met the right guy at a wedding of his fishing buddy Mark Johnson. That right guy was Steve Leigh who is an avid fisherman and disc jockey on KZYR 97.7 The Zephyr. Tim asked Steve how he could become a DJ. on the radio. In response, Steve asked him if he could run a computer and the rest was history. Tim spent 6 years on the radio in Vail, and during that time he hosted the fly fishing report every day during the summer. Tim spent 3 years as a manager at Gore Creek Fly Fisherman, and in 2005 Tim was contacted by Trout Unlimited to put together a team of fly fisherman to compete in the 2005 Fly Fishing National Championships. Along with Riley Cotter, Will Sands, Chris Galvin, and John Hanson they took the bronze medal as a team. Tim was the 11th place finisher overall. He has since moved to Highlands Ranch with his wife, son, daughter and dog, where he has been active in Denver Trout Unlimited and has created great events like the South Platte Pro-Am Carp Slam. Tim has become a ture urban fisherman. You can find him on the South Platte or fishing Aurora and Quincy Reservoirs. Tim usually fishes within an hour of Denver, because that's all he has time for. His real job is Real Estate. He can help you buy or sell a house and can property manage your investment property. If you use him as a realtor he will buy you a fly rod!
