Mike has been fishing for 50 years. The first 16 years of fishing was for trout in the streams of Massachusetts. At 22 he moved to Florida for work and took up a whole new type of fishing “saltwater”. For the next several years he learned in-shore and off-shore fishing techniques. There was also the occasional shrimping expedition. At the tender age of 40 Mike then found even another form of fishing “Bass Fishing”. Chasing this elusive predator became Mike’s latest obsession. His motto is "I'd rather be fishing".

This weekend we had a garage sale to purge the items we consider as junk but others consider finds. I took some old rod and reel packages along with some plastics that I have not used in years, making them part of the sale and along came the fisherman.

The shrimp have shrunk because we ended up with three gallons and only four of those hundreds of shrimp were of the large variety.

We had our classic tournament this past weekend. There were 7 areas in a blind draw and we drew Lake Toho for the second year in a row.

The first 5 gallon night of shrimping season. After a couple of months getting 2 gallons here and there, we finally got our limit last night.
