Polarized Pursuit
by: Joshua Christensen , California3/29/2012
I have been looking for a pair of polarized sunglasses for a long time. I have been through Oakley, Costa, Habervision, Smith Optics, Ono's, and many more in the pursuit of finding a pair that fits me, my personality, and my style of fishing.

If you have never been on a kayak, then you have no idea how sometimes things just seem to fall off the boat and sink into the abyss if they are not tied down. A general problem that everyone goes through is trying on a pair that fits your head. Everyone has a different size head and hence the reason for so many brands and styles.

I have passed on buying maybe 50 or so styles of polarized sunglasses from all the brands above and then some. I have been looking for the perfect pair for years it seems, I desperately need them to look good, function properly, and stay on my head no matter what!

The other half of the puzzle to finding a pair of sunglasses is brand image and price. I can't tell you how many people I see buying 250 dollar pairs of glasses, really?  It says Oakley on it people, you can't save them and watch their value rise, it is not gold and you're paying for the name, not the material. The brand image is important to me, I think about the brand that I wear as free advertising. I am not payed to wear anything so what I do wear I want you to know is based on the values and image of that company as well as myself. I fish professionally from a kayak and at times I am in front of thousands of people, some of which are looking at what I wear and what I use. To be blunt, I am not going to wear a third world produced product that cost a fraction of the price to make as the price it is sold for.

I am an American that has served and bled for my country. I want to buy, wear, refer, and support American, a main reason why I am a long time wearer of Oakley sunglasses. When it comes to American there is not much that stands in front of Inferno USA if anything at all. A few days ago I had the privilege of hosting the Fish Explorer booth at the Del Mar Fred Hall Show for the entire event. One morning I was walking around before the show and ran across Justin, the Owner of Inferno USA. We talked about his sunglasses and I ended up picking up a pair that Inferno dubbed the Flash. Justin is a one man show, going from event to event, showing people the quality of his product by literally beating some of them against metal! Inferno is an American company, the sunglasses are manufactured in America, Colorado to be exact. The styles are completely customizable, engrave-able, bendable to fit your head, and they are all polarized. They are incredibly comfortable, the lenses are crystal clear, and I cannot shake them off my head, which is why I replaced my Oakley Gascan sunglasses with them.

Justin faces the same thing that every small company does, how to get the product in front of people for them to feel and wear the quality. Everyone wants to try it on before they buy, I admit that I am one of those people as well. Luckily I had the chance to try a few pairs on and cannot express the quality of these shades. In the most unexpected place, I found the shades I have been looking for for years. Inferno meets all my rigid requirements.

Inferno is all American, from the owner to the production. They are quality and style that will literally match everyone. The owner believes in them so much that he gives out his personal cell number to everyone so they can call him directly if their sunglasses have any issues. It is 100% satisfaction 100% of the time. No one can beat that, not in any product line. I was blown away by the image of Inferno.

I would like to be very clear, I am in no way affiliated with Inferno USA, although I would love for them to start a pro staff. I am sharing this because I want you to have the very best there is. Inferno markets to motorcycle riders right now, but don't be surprised when you see them hit the fishing market hard. Check  them out, give them a chance, you will be blown away and if you are not, the owner will make sure that you are.

I'm going to expose my ignorance here but...I've not heard of professional kayak fishing before. I would really enjoy it if you wrote a short blog on the subject. Thanks Joshua.
