LAS ANIMAS, Colo. - Colorado Wildlife Commissioners Tim Glenn and John Singletary will hold a question and answer session at Bents Fort Inn in Las Animas at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 6.
The purpose of the meeting is to give the public an opportunity to meet their wildlife commissioners, allow the commissioners to hear concerns and suggestions from the public, and answer questions about Colorado's wildlife management.
"Folks who want to talk about hunting, fishing, wildlife conservation, or other wildlife issues that concern them should come to the meeting and find out how those issues can be addressed by the Colorado Wildlife Commission," Singletary said. The Colorado Wildlife Commission is an eleven-member board appointed by the governor. The Commission sets Division of Wildlife (DOW) regulations and policies for hunting, fishing, watchable wildlife, and nongame, threatened, and endangered species. It is also responsible for making decisions about buying or leasing property for habitat and public access. The Commission also approves the DOW's annual budget proposals and long-range plans.
