AVON — Avon will lower the water level in Nottingham Lake this week to build a fishing pier scheduled to be completed by the end of summer. The water level will remain low while the pillars that support the pier are constructed, and the lake will begin to refill at the end of the month during the spring run-off.
The fishing pier project is partially funded by the Colorado Division of Wildlife's Fishing is Fun program. In 2009 Avon received two grants from the Colorado Department of Wildlife totaling $104,000 for construction of the pier.
Questions about the fishing pier can be directed to Shane Pegram at 970-478-4114 or at email@example.com.
