Pinewood update
8/22/2012

All,

Starting this morning, you will likely notice the water elevation at Pinewood
Reservoir (http://www.usbr.gov/gp-bin/arcweb_pinresco.pl) dropping. We have started
to use water stored in Pinewood to meet Colorado-Big Thompson Project demands off
the Big Thompson River.

The draw on Pinewood will be steady for several days, at times maybe dropping at the
rate of a foot a day. We will likely see Pinewood get close to an elevation of about
6557--about 9 feet down from where it is now--within the next several days.

Some of the demands we are responding to include Boyd Lake and Lake Loveland. Both
those bodies of water use C-BT water as a supplemental supply.

I'm out in the field today, but can be reached via cell phone if you have additional
questions at (970) 215-9545.

Best,
Kara
