DOW Wildlife Commission to Meet Nov 8 in Colo Springs
The Colorado Wildlife Commission will meet at the Double Tree Hotel, 1775 East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard, in Colorado Springs Nov.8 at 8:30 a.m.
The Commission will vote on final regulations to adjust nonresident big game license fees according to the Consumer Price Index and adjust commission fees for license agents where applicable. The Commission will consider a price reduction for antlerless deer licenses in specific Game Management Units (GMUs) where increased harvest is desired. Regulations regarding turkey hunting for the 2008 season will also be voted on by the Commission.
Draft regulations to be reviewed by the Commission will include the establishment of a shed antler collection season, modification on restrictions regarding transportation of cervids from CWD-positive GMUs, regulations pertaining to fish health and management, including Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia Virus, and modification of GMU boundaries.
A citizen petition regarding the modification of regulations that would allow for the release of up to 25 privately owned game birds on State Wildlife Areas for dog training purposes will also be reviewed by the Commission.
