Green Mountain Reservoir Assistance

Post By: cdub2411      Posted: 1/13/2018 9:05:03 AM     Points: 102
Hi I've been reading the posts and spoke to master Bait and Tackle and heard that the lake is iced over. Has anybody seen machines out on the lake I've never been ice fishing at Green Mountain Reservoir and I've heard that the hike and can be tough it was wondering if it was thick enough for my quad?

Any bait suggestions would be welcomed thank you all so much

Hey thank you for the reply I am somewhat new to the site and did look in the FXR post and didn't see anything about machines being on the ice which I'm guessing means nobody has them out yet but figured I would double check.

see lake update from today 1/13. Sounds like still some weak ice areas. Be safe

Didn't see any out today. thought I heard one at one point, but never saw it. Didn't see any tracks on the ice either.

Ice is 6-8 inches, with some thinner areas. Friends were on about 5, I was on about 7-8 and we were 20 yards apart.

They SAY 6" is enough, but I wouldn't risk it yet. Plenty of easy access points on foot if you are able bodied. (I'm a fat old out of shape smoker and I did it.)

I appreciate all the responses, we didn't risk it and didn't see anyone up their with toys but am guessing after the shift it temperature it will be good after another week but like everyone said be careful, there was still open water towards the inlet!
