Its closed to boating (other than to retrieve downed birds) and fishing is only allowed from the dam faces until the close of waterfowl season.

From the regs.

Fishing is restricted to the two south dams and the bank around the outlet tower from October 1 through the last day of the migratory waterfowl season, except ice fishing is allowed anywhere on the lake.

Have you been to Jackson lately. Thinking of kayaking it Saturday.

No i haven't been for a while. Thanks for the clarification. Its supposed to be windy,rainy, n cold sat. Be safe out there if u go. It can get ugly quick out there. Also if you go i might suggest the north shore side. It seemed deepest.

was there two weeks ago just a mug hole. everything we saw were dead. another lake pays the price which ticks me off cause prewitt was starting to be come a really nice fishery.

INLET ???? WATER FLOWING FROM LAKE INTO INLET AT CONCREAT SPILLWAY...WHERE YOU CAN DRIVE UP TOO.....( WATER FLOWING WRONG WAY???) ...HOW FAR DOWN THE CANEL THE WATER FLOWS THIS WAY I DO NOT KNOW...???SURPRISED ME SEEING THIS..

LAKE IS SO VERY LOW.....WHITE HOUSE ???..CANEL THERE IS NO ACTION AT ALL.....ONLY DEAD CARP...IN FRONT OF WHITE HOUSE NOW IS A DEAD POOL....SAW NOTHING FLOATING OR SWIMMING....DAM END......NOTHING ....FOUND A OUTBOARD MOTOR..MAYBE AROUND 40 HP. DRUG IT TO BASE OF DAM ..AND LEFT THERE NO COVER...LOOK TO BE IN WATER THIS YEAR...COULD NOT DRAG TO CAR ..TOO FAR..WILL SUBMIT TWO LISTINGS TO GET ALL PHOTO'S ON SITE....1. AS I WAS LEAVEING A GUY COME ROLLING INN ...I TALK TO HIM A FEW.. HE MENTIONED HE COME HERE PAST TWO DAYS AND TODAY ( 3 DAYS FISHING HERE ) HE FISH ALL DAY LONG TILL SUNSET EVERY DAY...ALL ALONG DAY ..NOTHING ??? ALL FORMS OF BAIT ..WORMS, CRAYFISH, MUSSLES.POWERBAIT, CORN, SALMON EGGS.CHICKEN LIVERS.....HE HAS COUGHT NOTHING AND BAIT IS STILL ON HOOKS....AFTER TODAY IF HE CATCHES NOTHING .....HE SAID HE AIN'T COMMING HERE ANY MORE ...I WISHED HIM GOOD LUCK...AND HEADED OUT....

HERE IS A COUPLE OF PIX'S FROM AUGUST 25 THIS YEAR.AT SAME EXACT POINT OF PLACE ..WATER NO MORE FLOW TO LAKE .....NOTICE ..THERE IS DRY CANAL....AND NO DITCH ...( 2-4 INCHES ) DEEP OF ANY WATER FLOW ANY DIRICTION FROM SPILLWAY DOWN STREAM FROM HERE .... NOT TODAY WATER FLOWS UP STREAM INTO SPILLWAY ....AND YOU CAN SEE IT BEEN FLOWING FOR SOME TIME TO MAKE THIS SMALL PASSAGE OF WATER...?? .....THING'S FOR THOUGHT......LOOK FOR THE HEART SHAPE ROCK.....TO THE LEFT OF EACH PICK...

LOOKS TO ME...??? WATER HAS NOT FLOWED UP THIS CANEL...IN A VERY LONG LONG TIME ......WHY NOW ..WHEN WE HAVE IN A DROUGHT ...???. AND TO ME I SEE IT IS BEEN FLOWING UP STREAM A WHILE ...FOR THE WEAR IN THE GROUND OF WATER FLOW TO GRIND IN A FEW INCHES ...SOME FEET WIDE ...DOES NOT MAKE CENSE....

The water in the inlet is coming from the Prewitt Ranch. ( private )

There is a ditch running into the wetlands there, and some of it makes it to the inlet channel...None making it to the lake yet
