First day of vacation
Post By: Wisconsin      Posted: 9/25/2012 7:06:16 AM     Points: 206
Wife and I started our vacation on a pretty good note, Never fished Cherry Creek before but with the help from a couple of FX member FOM and Icefishing fool we got into a couple of keeper eyes ( Thank you guys for your tips and was a pleasure meeting you both and look forward to hooking up with you again was nice getting wife into some keeper eyes she was excited and can t wait to eat them.) Both fish were caught trolling, we did do some spooning and had 4 fish on but did not land them? Cherry Creek is a pretty res and will be fishing it again soon (Wed.) Eyes were 18.5 and 19 inches and chunky, there was nothing in stomachs when cleaned. THANKS again guys WISCO and Wife

Fom, we were going between 1.75 and 2.0 mph caught first one buoy number 1 and 2 nd by buoy number 7 by marina caught 1 on green and silver shad rap other on white and black flicka shad, we had 130 ft. of line out. we missed 4 while spooning had on but guess did not get good hook set? We are heading up again this morning, not worried about rain have full cover for boat. bought a few of tiger colored rapalas but could not find any of the spooning lures you had, Wife saw how you guys worked area with your bow mount trolling motors , she said we got to get one of them, ( I love my wife anything that will help put more fish in boat she wants so do I , never have to ask to buy it. again Thank you and Bud for pointers maybe sometime we can return favor. Tight Lines WISCO and Wife

Glad you got into some, I would try the brighter colors today, like the firetiger, as well as the perch color, and pick up the speed a little 2-0 to 2.5 if your using a rapala 5 and 7 try shorting up your long line to 115 to 120. I will be trying to get my wheels back on my trailer today, and will be looking at hitting it again Thursday morning.
