1st Catfish EVER

I became serious about fishing about a year and a half ago and have had luck with trout, bass, walleye, carp and even a northern pike, but I've never gotten a cat and have always wanted one. Well... last night, I got my first cat, and the fight was phenomenal. Took about 10 minutes to reel him in. I didn't have a scale or a tape, so not sure on the exact specs, but he's a sea-donkey for sure. After the photo shoot, I thanked him and sent him back.

Holy Cow. That reservoir has been getting some pigs this year!
Good job on the catch, once in a lifetime...

Now you need to go get a scale and tape measure, always a justifiable purchase after getting into the bigguns.

I was fishing with chicken livers night crawlers. This guy ended up hitting on the crawler. Simple treble hook and a heavy triangle sinker. Nothing bit on the livers.

bummer about the tape and scale. with the pic and measurements that is for sure a master angler winner... good job though, the pic and memory will last a lifetime. Thats why we all fish, for nights/days like that.

He did my state record cat Repro a couple years ago cost was about 600

Lots of detail I had it back in a month. He's very fast on the turn over.
I think it's cool he hand paints those eyes insted of using the eyes that came with the repro
He has also won many awards across the country

The detail was done very well on the painting of the gills and the mouth area the fish in general was great IMO
He works at Dicks off I-25 the one up north PT I think you can call him there also.

or try Trails End Taxidermy in idaho spring ask for chuck and say that justin sent you. He's the best in the biz. Btw that is a brute my friend well done.
