How many times do you goto other states to fish per year?
Why?
Does anyone go out of state to ice fish?
I just moved to WY at the 1st of the year and fishing here is pretty good..
Was just a random thought....

I go to southdakota about twice a year because the fishing is far superior to Colorado. I also go to wyo to fish the rivers maybe twice a year also to fish n camp with my dad. And then theres the Nebraska trip for cats n eyes for a fun weekend.

Iam in Nebraska 2 weekends a month to fish. Less crowded, big water. I'm bored with trout. Big mac. Red willow. Enders. I-80 sand pits. Iam also tired of the smorgasbord of species that are in our lakes.

We regularly go to Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.

If I didn't have kids and need to be setting a good example and did not want to create a bad situation for my family I would definitely NOT buy a Colorado fishing license for a while.

I honestly think that our CPW needs a revamp of the fishing echelon.

It's a catch 22.

Trout fishing here is very good, some yrs better than others IMO. This yr? Not so much, lots of small ones (400 or so ) with very few what I call big fish (over 17 inches). Why? IMO not enough water in the rivers, little snow and zero spring/early summer rain. Or maybe I suck this yr?

That being said, in general I go to SD, Mn, and Wisc to fish. The variety is what I go for. In most lakes a guy can fish for eyes, panfish, pike, smb, lmb etc. I see pictures of eyes and pike and bass on this site and I wonder is this all there is. This is nothing against Co, it is what it is. Good to great trout and not much else.

By the way, I am retired so I fish a lot. Many trips in and outstate plus lots of local excursions.

Florida!!! I love fishing the fresh water but nothing beats the saltwater critters for variety and a change of pace. Anyone else fish around Pine Island Sound or Charlotte Harbor?

When I go back home to Florida, I go out with my friends to alligator alley, and holiday park, and a couple of secret everglades spots as well.

Then its off to the keys. I rent a boat, and catch fish all day. Bring em back to the restuarants, and they cook em for you. I miss that.

Usually fish the Gorge in WY at least once a year, depending in gas prices.
