Fish: Common Carp
carp on a seed
Post By: shimanofish&bike      Posted: 8/27/2012 12:17:19 PM     Points: 72
Caught this bad boy yesterday using a seed on a tree next to the the water. Initially saw some carp and decided to see if they would eat the seeds on this tree that was next to the water. Stripped some seeds and tossed them in and what do you know they ate them. Floating or sinking. It took me a while to figure out how to keep the seed on a tiny hook because the skin was so thin and a really hard pit in the middle which could not be pierced by the hook. This was the only one I landed. Missed some huge ones because I was setting the hook too soon. What a fight.

If it is the tree behind you in the picture... then it is a russian olive.

Like has been said earlier, good job using your immediate conditions to be successful.
