My wife is no stranger to large Lake trout, she will spend hours and sometimes days working to get a decent fish like this. This weekend was real tough. with the water level getting down there and the surface temp high the fish were all over the place suspended deep in the water column and in three days were never in the same place twice. The fish we marked on the bottom were really spooky and not even the slightest bit interested in just about every color and size jig we own. Finally her persistence payed off. all you need is one of these guys to make your day. With the warm surface temp it's extremely important to get these guys back in the water as soon as possible. this fish blew his air sack right on Que when she brought him up and kicked off hardy back to the deep water on the release to give one of you lucky anglers a ride next time.

Thanks for all the great reply's. Its been a great year for big fish, with the early ice off things started out slow for us but really kicked in during early May and held good all summer. Looks like we will be going into the hardwater season with the lake really low. Ice fishing should be excellent, hopefully we get a bunch of snow this winter to bring these lakes back up.
