(PART 2)
the next day we got up around 8:00 a.m. we decided to fish the north shore by the marina since me and my girlfriend had some luck catching some kokanee a couple weeks before in the spot we we're in.
the fish we're nibbling on what we we're using but weren't actually taking it. so after a few hours we decided to pack up and head to the canyon for a few hours before we went out for a second night of night fishing.
we decided to fish a catch and release spot at the canyon just for fun and so we could actually catch something and we did I caught 2 rainbows within 5 mins of each other one about 10-11 inches long and one about13-14 inches long and my girlfriend caught a sucker about 15 inches long all of which were safely released back into the water and swam away for others to enjoy.
sunday night we decided to night fish and once again we had problems with inconsiderate people. we parked in the parking lot on the north side by what i believe is called "Backcountry".
we set up our gear south west of the parking lot in a grassy area got our lines in the water, then about about 40 mins later 3 A-holeles show up and needles to say start throwing their 6 lines all over the place.
we were on one side of the point of the cove and they were on the other side and they pretty much forced us off of where our lines were because they casted 2 of their lines 5 feet next to my girlfriends.
we new this because of the light up bobber that was floating next to her line.
they also irritated the people to the left of them to the point we're they packed up and left because they tangled their lines 4 or 5 times and didn't even care.
by the time 12:30 a.m rolled around the had forced us to move 40-50 feet away from our original spot and they kept moving closer 2 us and had literally caught about 7 fish at that point in the area our lines were when we first got there.
by 1:00 a.m we still hadn't caught anything, we we're tired of smelling there marijuana smoke and didn't want to here the two brothers argue anymore with each other more so we packed up and left.
Monday afternoon before we left we decided to go back to the spot that we we're at the previous night on the north shore fished it for about an hour before the clouds started rolling up and the wind became to much .
needless to say we should of left sooner because we got stuck in that wicked storm that caused the mudslide in manitou springs. we passed the area 5 mins before it happened.
all in all i did have fun this weekend spending time with my girlfriend despite the inconsiderate people i had to deal with and not catching anything that we could keep. can't wait to get back up there.
any tips on how to deal with the people i encountered and fishing tips for the lake would be appreciated i just started fishing again on a normal basis this summer i used to fish all the time from elementary school thru high school both here in colorado and in florida with my grandfather, but after high school started college and girlfriends who didn't like to fish. now i'm 2 years out of college and have a girlfriend who loves fishing and being out doors. so any help so i can start reeling in more fish would be much appreciated.
p.s. sorry for the punctuation and spelling my brain is completely friend from sitting at my desk at work all day so bare with me lol
