Largemouths Near Northshore

Fished the creek at the back of the Northshore marina from 6-11am today and caught 11 largemouth! This is a personal best for me at Pueblo both with size of fish and the number of them. I caught them using 4 inch BPS Stik-o worms (aka senko) wacky and Texas rigged, and with a crayfish colored crankbait. I used two colors of worms both black and green pumpkin.

Nice, I have had success there as well on the same baits, both my fish were fat and about 14 inches. Crawdads workedwell to for us.

So glad to know others are finding success at Pueblo. 2 years ago I took a season off of fishing because I had become so frustrated with learning to fish here in Colorado (I lived in Michigan until I was 22). After that sebatical, I've hit the water with fresh perspective and outlook and have really started experiencing minor success.

I hear ya, my brown and I live in fort Collins but our parents are in Pueblo. We have taken road trips to Alabama, and Georgia just to get some decent large mouth action and were getting frustrated. We took 2010 off and only fished a couple times. Last year we started again and really tried to concentrate on our plastic game. We have had great success on parties and smallies and have really gotten into them with the heat this year.here is a couple we have found in no Col, largie was 41/2# and no wait on brothers smallie.

Good stuff guys!!! Good to see others enjoying P-lo as well. I spend a lot of time there because I hardly ever come away having not landed fish.

I havent put in much time fishing that spot on the lake. Most of my bass success has come further down the north shore in the numerous coves such as Antlers Cove and Turkey Creek Cove. Then again, I am a newbie to the bass game as of this year so I am just guessing at where they "should be".

Perhaps our paths shall cross one of thes days at the lake =)

It sounds like you guys know Pueblo pretty well. I lived in MI until I was 22 and grew up bass fishing local ponds, lakes, and the Great Lakes. I feel as if I have a lot of bass fishing experience but am new to the CO scene. Hopefully I'll see you on the water sometime.

Fishingjunkie, there are good bigmouths at Dixon just east of htooth by the stadium. With the heat the weeds are way up but top water still works early in the morning. I have also got some out of the ponds at the far east Endocrinology horsetooth Ave.(can't remember the name of those). Hit the tooth tonight, water is low low. The inlet is a trickling stream, but smallies were munching spinners, and senkos. Good luck and maybe we will see you at the tooth.
