I did from a boat late last week. Caught lots of bullheads and heard about three walleye being caught. There was about 7 boats out there each day all catching bullheads. Water temp was 77 degrees at the surface. Lake was anywhere from 4 to 10 feet deep. Boat ramp was still easily useable.

For those that fish Jumbo. It would be good to get updates on the conditions, water temp, level,, ramps, etc.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. How long u suppose till the ramp is out?

They said ramp would be useable until probably about end of July. There was water flowing in through the inlet and leaving through the outlet at the same time.

Fished there last night and today. Water temp was 77deg max depth we found was 11ft. The water was murky and had lots of weeds and leaves in it. You could only see about 1ft. We started off pulling worm harnesses and lindy rigs at .8 mph. Many different colors from shartruse, orange, copper, rainbow, yellow and SS. Nothing but bull heads. Adjusted speeds by .2 untill we hit 2.5mph. Got tired of catching bull heads so we switched over to shad raps, tail dancers, rattling rogues. From 1mph to 2.5 and got nothing but bull heads. Final tally of fish was 72 bull heads one big cat and a 31in carp on a worm harness. Ramp is still usable but is hard to launch alone. Gates are open from 5am to 9pm. Good luck!!!!

Walleye fishing has been very good.

Swigs-

Can you elaborate (time of day, lures, etc)? I usually don't ask specific questions like that, but it sounds like you're the only one on them. I'd love to catch a few walleyes, but I'd hate to drive all the way out there for bullheads.

Thanks for any help.

Mr pink what day are you thinking of going out if you do? I always catch a few eyes when i go to jumbo. I am almost thinking of trying it on sat. Maybe you could carpool with me, fish together? I also have a backup plan if it don't work out.

Unfortunately, I'm never good for Saturday. A buddy and I were thinking of taking his boat out on Wednesday. If you're free I could talk to him about taking you with...otherwise, maybe you and I could go Sunday.

I hate to sound like a cheater, I don't have any kind of boat and only use live minnows during Ice season., but is it legal to use live minnows? Even tho they pulled the fish regs? ....Thanks!

Frostbitten yes you are still allowed to use minnows. I always use them aswell. But if you are only gonna catch bullheads it might not be worth the price of them.

Anyone know the best spots to fish Jumbo right now? planning on going out tonight but im only interested in Walleye or trout if there are any.

I think that's what everyone wants to know.

I've never fished Jumbo, but I really doubt that any trout have survived.

My favorite spot is next to the outlet towers probably the deepest part of the lake too. Try a slip bobber n a crawler or minnow. Make sure u bring back a conditions report so every body can get out there and salvage the fish when they start biting. Thanks in advance.

hmm turns out i cant go tonight... dam garage sale i have to handle while my parents are out at work. I'll be going out tomorrow night for sure though. If anyone wants to join me i'll be trying the South Point of Jumbo around 8 pm. If thats too low than i'll head to the outlet. And still not sure where to get the minnows if anyone can tell me.

My brother and I are thinking of coming to Jumbo from Colorado Springs. We do not care for bullhead. Is there anything left besides bullhead? Is it worth the trip?

Sorry to say all you'll catch from shore with any kind of bait is bullheads. Boaters are catching a few walleye on small cranks with planer boards by the island and the bluff.

Yep Jumbo has become complete garbage from shore. i was out there two nights ago and i was on the dam. the southern point and the pump house, all i caught was a ton of bullheads.

Thanks everyone for the info. Guess we will go to a more local spot.
