Hi , my family and I will be fishing Taylor next week. Please give me advice about the set up I should use for kokanee.I dont have down riggers , so thats out of the queston . We are ready to be on the water . The advice is greaty aprreceated. Thanks abunch , Fish Adiction
The honest truth is there is a fairly small population of salmon in Taylor. That being said I catch one now and again when we try. I would focus on the dam side of the lake and try either cow bells or a dodger followed by a small rocky mtn tackle squid or assassin, an arnies spinner, or maybe a Tasmanian devil. Start with pink green or orange and see if you can nail down a patten for the day. Try using either leadcore line or snap weights to try different depths as well. They should be suspended over deeper water. Good Luck!

I do believe that they have started stocking kokanee in Taylor again. For many years, the only kokes in there were naturally raised and so there has been a sparse population. It may be another year or two before any significant number of kokes begin to show up in the boats.
