Nice little catch this evening

The patience is starting to pay off. On my 3rd or 4th trip to Redtail lake, I snagged this little bass near the transition to the river using a green/orange husky jerk rapala.
I'm not sure if it is really the spot for it, but I'm interested in catching a Walleye. Anyone have any tips for walleye in the south platte ponds?
I'd also be interested in some trout if they are in there.

I'm stuck doing shore fishing at this point (which is why the ponds are great). For the last couple weeks I've been trying to work with lures on a 5'10" Ugly Stick w/ a 4 lb. test trilene mono.
At some locations I'll set up a live bait rig on a 5'10" rod with a little heavier reel spooled with 6lb. test. No luck with nightcrawlers on the bottom, so far. If I head out this evening, I'll try a float with the worm a foot or two down.
As a final note, I've also been into jig fishing however, the weed bed is pretty thick around redtail so I spend a lot of time deweeding my lure and not much time catching anything.
