Our loss is your gain

Water Temp: 65
Our loss is your gain. We must treck up to our private Westcliffe waters tomorrow to retrieve a lost guide rod. As we don’t like to take advantage of the ranch’s exclusive deal with us we would like to bring a paying guest. So here’s the deal. 50% the standard rate for tomorrow only. That’s $172.50 for 1 or $217.50 for 2. All amenities and services apply but your guides get to fish part of the day. Trade 102 degree heat for big trout in cool mountain air at a great price. Call 719-778-3059. First call gets the deal.
Ok, there’s the sales pitch. “How was the fishing?” you ask? We hit the Tailwater a 6:00 and enjoyed a beautiful morning exploring the regulated waters hitting bows in all the places you wouldn’t normally expect. Fast water, tiny pockets and even warm pools taking meat and potatoes. The H&L egg was most effective for the larger trout. The water temp is holding but we must keep an eye on the data until fall. Fish 4X and don’t fight fish to exhaustion in the heat. It was a little slower action with exceptional takes and fights. I wet waded and felt the sting in the early hours and felt cool in the afternoon. Lou wore waders and started roasting as the sun started casting short shadows. When the air hit 100 degrees it was margaritas, chardonnay, bacon wrapped shrimp and burgers at the coyote grill.

I pay you so you have an excuse to fish and get your rod back? Really?

Just go get your rod. Why turn it into something more through here? Sounds shifty.

In every adversity in life there is the seed of an equal or greater benefit. Even at 50% off we still provide a gourmet lunch, all the flies that get broken off, casting instruction and everything that comes with hiring a guide. We still have to pay the ranch their rod fee which incidentally they use to support the Wounded Warriors program. So instead of making a 100 mile round trip to pick up a rod and going home I tried to make a win-win opportunity to fish for huge trout in a cooler climate while Pueblo roasts. If you’re the type of person to hire a guide you’d understand the value of the deal. If not go find another post to put people down. We’re all happy here.

"We're all happy here". At $345 a day normal rate for one angler I guess you are. There is no challenge to fishing private water-I've done it and grew tired of it fairly fast.

But glad you're making money providing that Colorado wilderness experience. :)
