It's a little late but I caught this little guy on the South Platte in Waterton Canyon on 4/30/12. 27" 8 1/2lb. I caught him on an ultra-lite spinning set up with 4lb test and a 1/16 oz. Roostertail!! If you're hoping to get some this size there, don't get your hopes up because I've never caught anything over 14" there, with most being under 10".
Nice HOG! There used to be a ton of great fish in there, but between the lower flows over the years and the angling pressure the canyon gets now, it has just decimated the big fish. It is really too bad. I didn't realize there were any THAT big still left up there. That's the kind of fish you'd expect to see come out of Cheesman or the Dream Stream!
