This time of year with hatches comin off all day, the fish are always lookin up and cruisin just under the surface. Early7-9 midges and I use #16mosquito and pmd tandem. 9-12 callibaetis and extendednbody adams and when the damsels appear tie one on. Nymphs would be hard to fish with all the weeds.

These flys can be had at-- anglers dream.net--

Really there are very few that fish drys at Spinney because they think they won't eat--Wrong.... Good fishin!!!

You're delusional if you think that trout measured 22". Unless that fish is really long, and judging from the pic, that fish is not 22", not even close. I hate when people lie about the size of their catch.

He said he caught fish in the 17-22 in range, he didn't say that particular fish was 22".

Quit being a douche.

Look at the tape measure, that fish is not 22". That fish's dimensions do not pan out to a fish of that size. You're not fooling anyone unless your name is Nefisher.

Thanks for the report. Ignor the jealous idiots who pick apart every post.

The fish in the net is average catch but the scaled fish is real... Not tryin to pump my chest--I'd rather educate.

Hey Vinnie, thanks for the report. You are one of the few that I give a hoot to hear from. I haven't been able to get out for 2 weeks. I'll be there tomorrow. You guys, the man shares knowledge. You can take it or leave it. I don't think it's a brag when your trying to share ideas and methods. I thought that is what this site is about. the numbers were realistic and so was the measurement. I'll post how I do sometime this weekend. Guess what. I don't care if you believe it or not. It's your choice. Lets have fun fellas!!

Ideas and methods are great to share. Here is mine: Tie your damsel nymphs very skimmpy, then fish them with a hand twist on a 12-14 ft leader and no indicator to the holes in weeds or where you see active fish and hold on tight, because you are about to get freight trained. As a side note, I do not condone hot spotting particular areas of the lake certain areas fill up with far too many boats to be enjoyable, but that is my petulant opinion. (nothing to do with original post, just sayin')

Hey everyone Fly4U took my wifes crystal ball now he knows everything!!! Boy she is gonna be mad when she finds out. Everyone post pictures so Fly4U can correct us all. Personally VINNIE was the reason I went and spent 800 on my first fly rod and reel combo. Last year was the first year fly fishing for me, went to spinney tons and aside from having no real idea when it comes to the bugs, I just tie some basic patterns and it's worked decent so far. I want to just say thanks vinnie.

Setz-- Great idea..Damsels are everywhere and football season is comin.
Topper-dropper covers all areas. So right about the frieght train effect, seen the backing several times.

Spinny is still rockin.

Spent Sunday and Monday on the water and saw my backing a few times. Nothing like a full day of dry fly action to large Rainbows.
