Isn't using gamefish as bait illegal?

hey that looks like the far west chatty pond...

Most gamefish are illegal to use. I'm pretty sure bluegill are OK, but I have no idea about perch.

When I bait fish, I use worms or salmon eggs, etc.

Maybe someone can chime in with the regs?

Pretty sure perch are legal as bait

Perch are legal as bait, nothing wrong there

Also, exceptional bass regardless of where/how.

Perch are legal, unless its artificial fly and lure only. I don't know about the location. Nice bass either way. This reminded me to look for my crawdad traps.

Thats the West Chatty pond behind the Audobon Center. Nice fish for those crappy ponds...

I looked up the regs and perch ARE LEGAL. Nice bass wherever it was caught.

You can use game fish as bait only when it is caught out of the same lake. I THINK the regs are under 7000 feet and west of the continental divide you can use game fish as bait. over 7000 feet and east of the divide no baitfish use

You have that kind of backwards sickws6. Live bait fish can only be used from the waters they came from, the OP was using a dead perch so that reg doesn't apply. Also, no live fish can be used as bait west of the divide except at Navajo. East of the divide and below 7,000 ft it's ok. [log in for link] It's on page eight.

Tight Lines...zzz

So you caught it, now you didn't. I'm confused?

Why are saying "I was there and did X" if you are posting for a buddy? Not to stir this pot anymore but you have 3 things going wrong for you here:

1. Despite saying, "I was...," it was not you.
2. Either your buddy was lying about Bingham or you just attached a random lake name to this picture, which wasn't even you, arbitrarily.
3. If you were posting it for a buddy, you should've been honest and said, my buddy caught X, OR, he or she should have posted it for him or herself.

Folks on this site know their waterways... Not a good start to the forum!

Bingham Lake doesn't care about mistaken identity. It has it's own issues...Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone and pay attention to what you're doing.

From now on, anything caught anywhere in the state will be declared a Prospect Lake catch caught by "my buddy." 10-4?

Speaking of people having heart-attacks over given-up honey holes, what ever happened to catfishgoon? Are you still out there goon?
