Good job on that cat and the release. Same spot I bet from years past for ya? Why don't you have a scale? Like Bass, cats should be weighed. It is way to hard to guess the weigh when they get that large. But if we were guessing I bet in the 30# range. Very nice. I will buy you a scale some day if you keep catching them.

I'm going on my first catfishing trip on Wednesday. So I have a few questions, what pound line were you using and what size/type of hooks?

Thats a hawg, but no way is it 30#. Try more like 20-24 #

Nice cat. I've been wanting to get into night fishing for cats lately. All the hogs caught look like it is well worth the wait.

Fishrangler I bought one yesterday! I generally use a 3/0 Circle hook on 18-24 inch leader with 1/2 oz slip sinker and use live crawdads that are 3-5 inches long i use the whole thing except the claws. Ive recently had some luck dropshotting them about 12 inches off the bottom. Caught a very nice wiper a few weeks back at Cherry Creek using this method.
Good Luck!
