Find another lake? lol Not sure if that's what you were looking for. Not a fan of Dixon. I've gotten a few fish, but nothing great. You're float tubing though so you might have better luck since I've only fished from shore. Very weedy by the shore. Maybe look in to Wellington.....

If you're a fly fisherman throwing little poppers should definitely get you some action from bass and bluegill. Also small streamers fished around the weeds seem to work well for the bluegill. I haven't fished it since graduating from CSU a few years ago but would like to get back to Foco and give it a shot. I caught some really nice bluegills up to 9.5 inches, a nice crappie, and some pumpkin seeds. If you are using lures I would throw small jig head tipped with a litlle gulp minnow or one of the other gulp products that resemble small insects or minnows. Another good option is a worm under a bobber, theres too many weeds to fish on the bottom. Also have a chance at catching a cat on the worm. Small spinners and spoons may also work but you may have to experiment a little. Good luck and don't forget the bug spray if the bugs are the way they were 4 years ago!

Don't be fooled, there are plenty of bass in dixon, and I've seen some really nice ones, but the average is about 10-12 inch lmb. Go weedless on a plastic craw imitation, or senkos work well there too. The water level has recently dropped and the fish havn't been biting too well. I've managed a few each time i take the tube out there though...Good luck!

What he said.

I just got back from there a half hour ago. As the previous post says, the bass bite was weak. I systematically searched the depths, and the only hits I got were far out. Slather on that insect repellent.
