Good job jman....sweet!

I fished Atown today and had a swimbait tied on my baitcaster ready to throw at a school of cruising wipers. Needless to say, the swimbait lure
was bigger than the perch I caught...LOL!

I tried to fish that pond the other day and jet skiers and water skiers were right on me the entire day. I saw another angler exchanging words with some punk kid then he decided to throw some golf balls out there, Let's just say I think their SeaDoo got messed up. All the kids with plastic badges just cruising in the boat did nothing, I honestly think they just cut tags off boats. "budget cuts" N e way, got a few eye's, and a few stockers, Good times, always an adventure on Colorado ponds, I do enjoy watching the 35 foot boats go in circles.

Wow, you better be 100% sure before you post a couple of comments like that. I assume you are and watched him(personally) toss those beer cans, and waited 'til he left and went and picked them up. Otherwise that is one of the stupidest, most irresponsible things I've ever seen posted on here about a person.
On that note
Nice Fish JMan (didn't know they grew that big), pick up your trash since apparently you don't. Question though how you catch such nice fish, so maybe you do :). Tell your friends to pick up there trash.

Very nice perch for CO. I grew up in eastern ND and that was about the average size catch on Lake Ashtabula.

The average walleye and northern pike up there put a keeper out here to shame as well. If an eye wasn't at least 24" long, you had to let it go!

ND has some great fishing. Back in 1990 I spent two weeks at Devil's Lake for Military Training. I wondered about the fishing there?

Montana Man,

Devils Lake, ND is the PREMIER walley capital of ND! Sounds like you were stationed at Camp Grafton.

That lake has grown at least 4 times in size with all the flooding occuring over the last 15 years or so and now borders the camp. I was up there a year and a half ago and ice fished.

The Northern Pike and Walleye were always abundant, as well as the perch. My family fishes there just about every weekend this time of year.

I sometimes get jealous of what I'm missing here in Colorado when I hear what they are having for dinner!

If you ever get up that way again 'out of state' licenses are cheap last I heard.

Tie on a Dare Devil spoon (black & white) for Pike but use a short leader and reel just fast enough to keep it off the bottom. For walleye, live
leeches work best about 18" off the bottom, plain and simple.

If you are up there between Thanksgiving and about March 1st, drive your truck right onto the ice. It should be about 18" to 30" thick. Drill a hole and knock em dead. Don't forget the schnapps, it gonna be really cold!

Nice fish! Glad someone enjoys fishing there- I stay far away because I don't enjoy the crowds and all of the boat traffic- not relaxing at all.
