I was there a couple days ago. The smoke wasn't bad at all (didnt even notice it actually). The water level, however, was very low. Also, charcoal grills have been banned at pinewwod, flatiron and carter as well as estes park, the upper part of the Big T and RMNP. So, if a bbq lunch is in your plans, bring a campstove so you won't go hungry like we did..lol.
the smoke is highly visible but the wind was blowing it to the east. Fished there friday and saturday. It was very windy during day after mid morning and wind let up around 7PM.. Caught several stockers on power bait. Bite was best early in AM and after 7PM
Today it is very smoky. This morning was real bad. You could see the smoke and smell it, strong, in loveland. The big Thompson canyon was very smoky as well. The wind has picked up a little and cleared some of it out. A pic from last night at a pond I was at in loveland.
