before i start this post i have a short story, last year around august i stopped by here and caught some pretty dam nice fish. i was wondering how the upper lake is doing temperature wise and level wise. any help?
I asked my brother who lives over in Colbran. All he said was because of the Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program people are pretty tight lipped about any warm water fishing opportunities on the W. Slope. The CPW and the USFW Service, do not or will not stock any warm water fish that may escape into any Colorado River Tributary. They have threatened to kill off a great smallmouth bass fishery just S. of GJ just for this reason. The most recent "warm water fish" angling opportunities have been created by bucket biology or by accidental stockings, like the SMB in Ridgeway Reservoir. I personally do not find, the fish, they are trying to save aesthetically appealing but some evidently do.
