Post By: Arod33      Posted: 6/14/2012 11:51:10 PM     Points: 15
So going up to pueblo for a little all night fishing trip on sat. Got some good advice on some spots to try. Just had one quick question for you expierenced pueblo fishermen. I love eating bluegill and was wondering where would be a good spot to find some decent sized gills. Going after some walleye to but got great advice from many of you guys so figured i would ask about the gills. Any help is greatly apprciated. And just want to thank all you guys here who post and help your fellow fisherman out it is very nice to see.

it is hard to find fish at p-lo. it has taken me hundreds of hours just to catch my first fish there. big bluegill are every where around the res. i pulled in 12 gills that were eaten size in on our last trip. i will give you some spots that i know of but don't be scared to try to find your own spots around there. any boat ramps always seem to hold big gills. also any shallow under water structure seems to hold some. hope you get into some.

Not that hard to find fish if you fish coves. Not promising bluegill but I've fished tournaments at pueblo and bluff walls and coves are your best bet.

I have spent every Saturday night down there hunting down eyes and wipers since the beginning of March. We have only landed 1 bluegill in our entire time spent pounding shoreline. We haven't really targeted them so don't be discouraged...

I highly recommend picking up a topo map of the lake and looking for steep drop offs near the shore and for rocky point bars. That has got us into more fish than any tips on here. There are lots of these drop offs near the North Shore Marina on both the west and east side of it.

Good luck brotha!!!!!!

im curious to see how your trip went AROD. I have fished the areas that nightangler recommended and have had great luck and bad luck. My best advice is to not try and let the fish come to you in one spot for a long time. Cover a variety of shoreline and the different points you are targeting and you should get into some fish. Best of luck man and hope you do well!

So heres the update of the trip. Got out there about 5pm sat night. Fished over by the dow ramp. We caught four lg mouth bass all being between 12 and 14 inches. Moved to turkey creek not a bite. About that time it was around 9 when we headed to north shore marina tons of people over there so choose to try shipwreck coves. Fished the coves till about 4 in the morning landing i would say about 10 walleye unfortunetly all where between 14 and 16 inches. In all had a blast just wish we could of had the luck the guys right across from us in shipwreck had they ended up leaving with there limit of walleye. But for me was just happy to have finally found some fish here. Caught the bass using slip bobbers and leeches. Walleye we used just a jig head with worms started with leeches for the walleye did not get a bite switched to worms and they started bitting. Once again thanks to all you fishermen who post here and help us newbies to the area out. Good luck to all you.
