There are wipers in cherry creek. we caught 5 wipers monday night. 6-9 pounders and one crappie that came in at 14". Then we went back wednesday morning hoping to get into the wiper again but got into the crappies instead. It was harder to locate the wipers. Decided to fish the crappies because they wouldnt stay away from us.

Nice crappie, the bigger wipers have been "wiped" out. Used to catch them along the east side of the dam in the early AM. Would see bank fisherman there with stringers, now their stringers aren't so full. Hmmmm wonder why.

We've been hitting them for the past month or so. Follow the crowds! Combat fishing!

As I have not been targeting the crappies, I believe most are having good action 4 to 6 ft under slip bobbers with minnows

We were in 10-15 ft of water that morning. We fished the whole dam looking for them, once found fished until the bite stopped, then moved to look for them again. Repeated this all morning till we hit our limit. Green twister tails was the magic lure. My buddy caught a few on rattle traps, but the majority came off of the twister tail.
